Ward delimitation draft opens for public objections this week

The draft delimitation order redrawing eleven ward boundaries was published on Monday, opening a five day window for written objections.

The redraw affects roughly ninety thousand voters, most of them in the wards along the outer ring where new colonies have come up in the last decade.

How to file an objection

Ward offices will accept written objections in person until Friday at six in the evening. Officials said around forty responses had come in by Wednesday afternoon, most of them from residents welfare associations.

Once the window closes, the draft goes to the state election commission with a compiled objections report attached.
